Personal bio:

Michael was born in Slovakia, and raised in the Lower Hudson Valley, just north of NYC.  Outside of his academic pursuits, his passions involve surfing and traveling. These have taken him along the better part of the Mid-Atlantic/North-Eastern seaboard, California, Mexico, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. He likes Richmond because it offers a lot of outdoor activities in close proximity, and because it is centrally located between mountains and the ocean.
