Nicholas RussellEducation:

Carnegie Mellon University, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering (2010), M.ChE. in Chemical Engineering (2011)
Hometown: Houston, TX
PhD Advisor: Linda Phillips, PhD
Graduate Program: Neuroscience

Research Interests:

Nick's research will focus on physical interactions between both cellular and extracellular tissue components and how they are affected by external stimuli including mechanical, chemical and electrical stresses. Of particular interest is what effect these stresses ultimately have on cellular function and ways to mitigate or enhance these effects.

Personal Bio:

Nick was born in Houston, Texas, and promptly moved through New Jersey and Dallas on his way to Tokyo, Japan, where he lived for eight and a half years (spending his summers in Richmond, Va.) prior to returning to Houston.
